Changes, they are a coming.

October 4th, 2013 at Fri, 4th, 2013 at 10:41 am by Jerry Galland

Thanks to all of you who read my blog here on the Federal Way Mirror. I have enjoyed the generosity of the staff at the Mirror as they try to present their readers with a wide variety of viewpoints.

Many have commented to me that they appreciate the opinions expressed, some in support, some in controversy.

Data shows that I am a well read member of the online community.

There have been some great changes to the way the website for the Mirror is presented. And some of those changes include the links to the various blogs.

Before the changes, any website hosted by the Mirror was easy to navigate to because they were in the same system.

After the change, systems were upgraded. It was an easy decision to sever links to some outdated sites, but the Mirror tried very hard to make sure everything else was connected.

The links to Cliff Mass Weather Blog, Gluten Free Foodies were independently hosted while Sidelines and Jerry Galland were Mirror hosted.

Recently the decision was made to ‘Shuttering the blogs’. This will solve programming issues, but it also means, presumably, that for the foreseeable future there will be no more links to any blogs hosted or not hosted by the Federal Way Mirror.

What is really not certain at this point is what happens to those blogs independently hosted.

So, to ensure that my readers can still stay informed, it is recommended that you add my independently hosted blog, Jerry’s Thoughts, to your bookmarks.

I will maintain this blog just as I do the fire department oversight page.

And I welcome the opportunity for the Mirror to direct readers to my blog in the future.

If you feel inclined to make a comment about my future appearance on the Mirror website, for or against, contact the publisher, Rudi Alcott

I am active in the arena of government accountability. In order to stay on the pulse and help keep the public informed, without compensation, I have attended every regular meeting and almost every Special meeting of the Board of Commissioners since October 2010.

ABOUT COMMUNITY BLOGS: Community blogs are written by volunteers. They are members of our community but not employees of this site or newspaper. They have applied or were invited to blog here but their words are their own and are not edited by the editor or staff of this site, and have agreed to abide by our Terms of Use. The authors are solely responsible for their content. If you have concerns about something you read on a community blog, please contact the author directly or email us.

COMMENTING RULES: We encourage an open exchange of ideas in the community, but we ask you to follow our guidelines for respecting community standards. In a nutshell, don't say anything you wouldn't want your mother to read.

So keep your comments:

  • Civil
  • Smart
  • On-topic
  • Free of profanity

We ask that all participants own their words by logging in with their Facebook account. It's a simple process that will take seconds and helps keep our comments free of trolls, cranks, and “drive-by” commenters.
