The unbeaten and defending state champion Federal Way Eagles are ranked 24th in the latest edition of the USA Today’s Super 25 boys basketball rankings. The rankings are done in consultation with various coaches and media and compiled by USA Today’s Jim Halley.
Schools are ranked based on a team’s strength of schedule and quality of players. The next rankings will come out on Jan. 12 and the Eagles should move up. These rankings don’t take into account Federal Way’s wins over national powers Long Beach Poly and Castlemont from California. The Eagles beat both schools at the West Coast Championships at Concordia University in Portland last weekend.
The Eagles won’t play again until Jan. 5 when they jump back into their SPSL North schedule.
Here is a complete look at the Super 25, which has St. Patrick of Elizabeth, NJ as the No. 1 ranked team.
